Terms of use.

LAST UPDATED · 12 AUGUST 2026

These terms cover your use of the Furio Guitar app for iOS and Android, published by Furio Labs. Installing or using the app means you accept them. If you do not, delete the app.

Your licence

Furio Guitar is free. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and use it on devices you own or control, for your own playing and teaching. The licence lasts as long as you keep the app installed.

You may not:

  • sell, rent, sublicense or redistribute the app or a modified copy of it;
  • reverse engineer, decompile or disassemble it, except where that right cannot be excluded by law;
  • remove or obscure any notice of ownership in the app or its assets.

The app, its name, its interface, its artwork and its code remain ours. Musical facts do not: scales, chords and triads are not anyone's property, and nothing here restricts what you play or teach.

Store terms come first

The app is distributed through the App Store and Google Play, and each store's own terms apply to it. On iOS that includes Apple's standard Licensed Application End User Licence Agreement, and this page is a supplement to it — where the two conflict, Apple's agreement wins for the App Store build. Apple and Google are not parties to these terms and are not responsible for the app, but Apple may enforce the standard EULA as a third-party beneficiary. Support is ours to provide, not theirs; see the support page.

This is a beta

Furio Guitar is in beta. Features can change or be removed, screens can break, and a release can drop something that worked in the one before it. Anything the app has saved on your device — Library shapes, practice history, settings — can be lost in an update, and there is no server-side copy to restore from, because the app has no network access at all. Do not rely on it as the only record of anything you care about.

Playing sound safely

The app plays notes and a metronome click through your device. Set the volume to a comfortable level before putting on headphones, and keep it there. You are responsible for the volume you choose to listen at.

A teaching tool, not an authority

The chord names, scale spellings, triad voicings and tuner readings the app produces are computed from a music-theory model and are offered for learning. They can be wrong, particularly where a shape has more than one defensible name or where the room is too noisy for the pitch detector. Trust your ears over the screen.

No warranty

The app is provided as is and as available, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose or non-infringement. We do not promise the app is free of errors, that it will run without interruption, or that the tuner will be accurate on your device in your room.

Liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, Furio Labs is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost data, or lost time arising from your use of the app. Some jurisdictions do not allow parts of the exclusions above to be limited; where that is the case, they apply to you only as far as that law permits, and nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

Ending the licence

You can end it at any time by deleting the app. We can end it if you breach these terms. Either way, the sections on warranties and liability survive.

Changes

We may update these terms as the app changes. The date at the top moves when we do, and continuing to use the app after that means you accept the updated version.
